Dahlia ‘Stadt Würzburg’

Dahlia Stadt Würzburg

Dahlia ‘Stadt Würzburg’ in the dahlia garden designed for IGA Berlin 2017 (origin: Gärtnerei Wagschal, Reinbek)

At least 46 Dahlia cultivars are named after cities from around the world. Those cities are located in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, the Philippines, Sweden, Spain and the United States. The City of Würzburg is one of the 20 German “dahlia cities” (based on May 2013 list). The orange dahlia ‘City of Würzburg’ is a pompon dahlia—group 7 in the group system of the International Dahlia Register (RHS supplement). The picture was taken in the Dahliengarten (Dahlia Garden) designed for the IGA Berlin 2017 exhibit in Germany.
