Dahlia ‘Gute Laune’

Dahlia cultivar Gute Laune

Dahlia ‘Gute Laune’ in the IGA Berlin 2017 dahlia garden (origin: Dahlien-Schwieters, Legden)

Looking at the lush and soft growth of dahlias can be an energizing experience. Being face-to-floret with bizarre blooms and interesting color and shade patterns of dahlia cultivars is a way to lift our spirits. The purplish-red cactus dahliaGute Laune” with its spiky-star ray floret is such a playfully uplifting hybrid. The German expression “Gute Laune” means good mood or good temper. The name has been accepted by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). The picture was taken on a sunny late-summer day in the Dahliengarten (Dahlia Garden) designed for the IGA Berlin 2017 exhibit in Germany.
