Chimney Rock

Chimney Rock

A brownish-gray sea stack surrounded by turquoise-silvery water

Chimney Rock is a small sea stack next to the natural bridge at the Drakes-Bay-side tip of the Point Reyes headlands—about three miles east from the Point Reyes Lighthouse. This flat-topped rock with stepped cliffs can be seen from the overlook at the end of Chimney Rock Trail. Hiking this less-than-two-mile-long path, you can enjoy views of Drakes Bay, its Historic Lifeboat Station, the Farallon Islands farther south and, as you get to the peninsula tip with the overlook and its crumbly cliffs, off-shore rocks.
