The following index contains abbreviated names of neutral-molecule ligands in alphabetical order. Abbreviations starting with a non-letter character precede those that start with a letter. Some abbreviations are formula-name hybrids containg numbers, special characters and/or marked-up code.
By locating an abbreviation in the index, a full name for the associated ligand is given. Selected ligands are linked to a page showing its structure and listing examples of complexes that contain the ligand.
Note that abbreviations are ambiguous: Some ligands have multiple short forms and occur in this index more than once. 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane, for example, is abbreviated as [12]aneN4 and also as cyclen.
