A Provincetown Harbor landmark: Long Point Light

Long Point Light

The northern tip of Cape Cod spirals into Cape Cod Bay. Therefore, Cape Tip has a northern most, western most, southern most and eastern most point, which roughly can be identified on the map by locating Race Point Beach Race Point Light, Wood End Light, and Long Point Light, respectively. The historic Long Point lighthouse is located at the north-east-pointing end of a sandspit—the center of the spiral, if we stay put with this geometric approximation. The site can be accessed from Provincetown by using the Long Point boat shuttle service or by walking over the one-mile-long rock pier. A short description of the unmanned, 38-feet-tall lighthouse is given at Lighthousefriend.com (accessed Sep. 24, 2020), including the historical data:
The lighthouse was built in 1875 and the adjacent oil house was built in 1904.
